5 Suspects Arrested in Nordstrom Robbery

Five suspects were arrested January 12th by the LAPD in connection with a take-over robbery at a Los Angeles Nordstrom Rack department store. 29-year-old Troy Marsay Hammock, 24-year-old Everett Oneal Allen, and 34-year-old Raymond Sherman, Jr. were arrested for robbery while 33-year-old Rochelle Monique Sherman and 29-year-old Paula Roneshia Bradley were booked for accessory to the January 10th burglary.
Raymond Sherman Jr. is the princial suspect, and was arrested for the robbery along with charges of kidnapping and rape.
According to an LAPD press release, around 11:00 PM, Hammock, Allen, and Raymond Sherman, Jr. approached the Nordstrom employees as they were closing the store. The three armed suspects proceeded to force the employees back into the store, holding them hostage while they committed the burglary. Over the course of the robbery, one employee was stabbed in the neck while another was sexually assaulted. Both were later treated for their non-life threatening injuries.
The LAPD were notified of the incident when an employee called a relative, who subsequently informed authorities. The first responding officers saw one of the suspects with a woman exiting the store, and then forcing her back inside, so they summoned the SWAT team due to possible hostage situation. But the suspects fled in a white SUV just before the LAPD’s SWAT Team arrived to rescue the victims.
Detectives from the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division worked for the next 48 hours to find the suspects and had located all five of them by Saturday evening. Four suspects are currently in custody in Los Angeles while the fifth is in custody at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department in Phoenix, Arizona.
Bradley and Rochelle Monique Sherman are being held for $100,000 bail while Allen’s bail was set for over $1 million. Both Hammock and Raymond Sherman, Jr. are both being held without bail.
Along with the responding officers, SWAT Team members, and Robbery-Homicide detectives, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck praised the fourteen victims who endured the burglary at a news conference.
“Nordstrom should be very proud of these individuals. The detectives have universally commented on how composed they were and how brave they were. [They were] truly, truly heroes in this [situation] and I am so glad that they survived this ordeal.”
