Man Arrested for Shooting at a Computer Monitor

Computer glitches are always bothersome but Ryan Erbes, took his frustration to a different level. Erbes, 32, of Red Bluff was arrested on Saturday, December 15, for firing a pistol at a computer monitor.

At around noon, the Tehama County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from the 17000 block on Clearwater Drive. The officials found that Erbes shot a bullet from a .50 caliber pistol at the computer screen. The bullet went through the screen, through the wall, and outside the building.

Though there were other people in the building, no one was injured.

Erbes was arrested and booked into Tehama County Jail with a bail set at $265,000. He is detained for maliciously and willfully discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling and discharging a firearm in a gross or negligent manner. He will have to look for a safer way to fix his computer next time.
