YUCAIPA – What was to be a night of Halloween fun turned deadly when a fight broke out between two partygoers and one ended up dead from knife wounds.

Some 15 to 20 people were at a party in the 35000 block of Avenue C when a fight broke out between two partygoers.

Blanca Becerra, 16, died Sunday reportedly from knife injuries she suffered in the attack.

Marilyn Danielle Perez, whose age was not immediately available, is being held at the West Valley Juvenile Detention center in Rancho Cucamonga, and is reportedly bring charged as an adult in the murder.

Neither the victim nor the suspect lived at the Avenue C home, but police did not say if the homeowners were present.

Law enforcement officials tracked down Perez, who fled the area after the attack, while she was seeking medical attention at Redlands Community Hospital.

Becerra died at nearby Loma Linda University Medical Center at 4 a.m. on Nov. 1.

Police continue to look into the murder.

“We’re still investigating it and still interviewing people,” said Sgt. Tony De Cecio of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
