FRESNO – The search of three Fresno County homes in connection to a shooting in San Luis Obispo led to the arrest of one suspect and the discovery of a large amount of marijuana.

Second Warrant Served Near Here

Officers from the San Luis Obispo Police Department, with help from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and Fresno and Clovis police, were looking for three men believed to be involved in a November shooting at San Luis Obispo Park. The victim was shot in the back; doctors were unable to remove the bullet from his back because it was too close to the spinal cord, authorities said. The victim was left partially paralyzed in his leg.

Investigators say six suspects were involved in the shooting and determined that three of them live in Fresno County. The other three suspects have already been arrested in the San Luis Obispo area.

Authorities served three search warrants on Thursday morning at three separate Fresno County homes. The first warrant was served near the intersection of Brawley and Dakota avenues in East Central Fresno, but no suspects were found.

Officers had more luck at the second house, located on Armstrong and Olive in West Central Fresno, directly across the street from Temperance Kutner Elementary School. Officers were able to arrest one person at the home and also discovered between 150 and 200 pounds of process marijuana. Authorities estimated the street value to be between $500,000 and $1 million. Guns were also found at the residence.

The third search warrant at an undisclosed location did not result in any arrests.

Police have not released the name of the suspect who was arrested. He and the other suspects will face charges of conspiracy, robbery and attempted murder.
