Photo Shop on Marsh was burglarized Wednesday

San Luis Obispo Police detectives are searching for a suspect who stole more than $30,000 worth of equipment from the Photo Shop. Store owner Peggy Mesler said during an interview with KSBY that most of the equipment taken from the store between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning included Canon brand cameras, lenses and flashes. Police are looking into how a burglar was able to get into the store without setting off any alarms.

“The doors were locked. The alarms were set. And the alarms were still set when I came in this [Wednesday] morning,” Mesler said during her interview with KSBY. Mesler also told KSBY that either the alarm was reset or bypassed. She told reporters she believes it could have been someone that knew her code.

Police say they found a fingerprint and clothing fibers in the door and they will use the fibers and fingerprint analysis in order to get a lead on the investigation. It is unknown at the time of press if the Photo Shop had video surveillance or if the police are looking at employees.
