Ventura Woman Arrested for Assault

While many residents of Ventura enjoyed a day off work on Monday, January 21, the police department did not have time for rest as they were called to a home on the 300 block of South Evergreen Drive at 6:25 pm.

The patrol officers were notified that a local resident, Kristine Lambert, 62, was threatening to kill her neighbor with a knife. The neighbor had managed to lock themselves in their house to avoid injury. By the time the police arrived, Lambert left her neighbor’s yard and went to her own home nearby.

Upon their arrival, officers tried contacting Lambert at her home but she refused to open the door or communicate with them. The officers then managed to obtain a search warrant based on the victim’s reports while additional officers kept a watch on Lambert’s home.

The officers executed the search warrant at about 12:30 am on Tuesday with a goal to locate Lambert and obtain any evidence of her crime. Lambert, however, did not intend to give up at first. She barricaded herself in the bathroom and was armed with a knife when the officers entered the bathroom by force. The officers were obliged to activate a taser to detain her and Lambert then gave in with no further incident. They also found the knife she used in the assault.

She was then transported to Ventura County Medical Center for medical treatment and observation after the taser activation. Lambert was reported to have no injuries and later booked into the Ventura County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats.

The incident lasted for several hours and the victim’s identity has not been released.
