Beach Masturbation Disrupts Ocean View In Newport

NEWPORT BEACH, CA: A Newport Beach resident witnessed more than surfers, joggers and seagulls when taking in the view of the beach Friday (Dec. 12) morning.

Around 9:30 am the resident of the 1500 block of East Oceanfront Blvd. and G Street, called police to report a young man that had gotten out of his car, clad only in boxer shorts and tee shirt, with his genitals protruding out the front of the boxer shorts.

The resident further explained that the man had walked out on the beach and begun to masturbate, according to police.

By the time police arrived, the man had returned to his car and left. However, given the witness’s description of the suspect and his vehicle, police pulled over Manvir Sandher, 19, of Fountain Valley, a short while later near West Balboa Boulevard and Eighth Street, said police.

Police brought the witness over and he positively identified Sandher as the person he’d seen masturbating on the beach, according to Sgt. Evan Sailor.

“Later the guy admitted that he was the one who masturbated,” said Sailor.

Sandher was arrested and later posted $500.00 bail for his release.

No other witnesses were reported and police do not believe Sandher was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police also excused themselves from hypothesizing what prompted Sandher’s suspected actions.
