“Real Housewives” Celeb Meets Real Arrest Warrant
COSTA MESA, CA – Reality television player, Slade Smiley, who was a main character on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Orange County” and, more recently, “Date My Ex: Jo and Slade”, was arrested by Costa Mesa police on a warrant Friday.
According to Costa Mesa police Lt. Clay Epperson, Smiley was arrested in the 2400 block of Elden Avenue around 3 pm on a $10,000 warrant for civil contempt, reported the Orange County Register.
The warrant was reportedly issued by Orange County Superior Court Judge Daniel Didier.
While specific details of the warrant that resulted in Smiley’s arrest were not released, civil contempt generally involves a failure to pay court fees which can include child support.
It was also unclear how the police knew where Smiley would be when they took him into custody. However, once approached, Smiley identified himself, was arrested and ultimately booked into Orange County Jail, said Lt. Epperson.
