House party ends with stabbing
EL DORADO HILLS — A man who tried to break up a drunken fight during a house party in ritzy El Dorado Hills early Saturday morning was stabbed during the melee.
Sheriff’s deputies found two men believed responsible for the attack hiding in brushes with another unidentified subject beside their unoccupied vehicle on Toro Court, a few miles from the Salisbury Drive residence where trouble began.
Deputies made their way to the area of Francisco Drive and Village Center around 2:20 a.m. Saturday. A house party in the 2300 block of Salisbury Drive unraveled when several intoxicated individuals reportedly became embroiled in a physical altercation in the residence’s backyard. The male victim was reportedly stabbed once in the stomach with a kitchen knife when he attempted to separate the combatants, which included Stephen Bowen, 18, of Orangevale, and Marcus Daniels, 22, of Sacramento.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken by friends to a Folsom area hospital by the time authorities arrived. Bowen, who is actually believed to have committed the stabbing, and Daniels fled with another person in a Toyota pickup truck, and were pursued by another group of the victim’s friends. With reports that the suspects may be traveling near Francisco Drive, one responding deputy found the empty pickup truck on Toro Court.
The deputy searched the brushy area near the vehicle, finding Bowen, Daniels and the third subject, who wasn’t directly connected to the stabbing, lying in the brush. Bowen was charged with assault with a deadly weapon; Daniels was charged as an accessory to the assault.
