Police arrest Woodland man in sibling slasher
WOODLAND — There was a shortage of brotherly love Saturday at a Woodland apartment complex, where police say they arrested a 40-year-old Woodland man who allegedly slashed his younger brother with a knife during a fight.
Officers were summoned shortly before 10 p.m. to the Autumn Run Apartments, 1180 Matmor Rd., where witnesses said the brothers were engaged in a physical fight in front of their apartment. While they were en route, police learned that one of the siblings had been stabbed, Sgt. Tom Davis said.
When they arrived on the scene, “officers found the victim lying on the ground with a large cut to his abdomen,” Davis said. His brother, identified as Khalid Hussain, also was on scene and was taken into custody.
Hussain’s 34-year-old brother was taken by ambulance to the UC Davis Medical Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition Sunday morning after undergoing surgery, according to Davis.
Police recovered the knife allegedly used in the slashing, Davis said. Hussain was lodged at the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. His bail was set at $25,000.
