Police arrest Vacaville man for alleged homicide
VACAVILLE – Vacaville police arrested a resident late Thursday evening on charges of homicide.
At approximately 10:39 p.m. Thursday the Vacaville Communications Center received a call of shots fired in the 200 block of Cambridge Drive. Patrol units responded to the area and took up a perimeter around the home.
Officers attempted to contact a male subject inside the residence, but were unsuccessful. Initial reports indicated that a domestic violence incident occurred and a female was shot.
A patrol officer evacuated four children inside the home to a safe location.
Officers on the perimeter were finally successful in communicating with the male subject and he was taken into custody. A female was found in the attached garage on the floor, where she was pronounced dead by paramedics on scene.
Sidney David Wilson, 33, of Vacaville was booked into the Solano County Jail in Fairfield. The female victim was identified as Victoria Corral, 33, of Vacaville. The couple were in a long-term relationship and had two children in common.
The children in the home were taken into protective custody at the scene and later released to family members.
Vacaville Public Information Officer Mark Mazzaferro said social workers have been assigned to the case.
“We are asking our county and state resources to help out in order to help the kids deal with this terrible tragedy,” he said.
The Sanctuary Church in Vacaville is accepting donations on behalf of the family. They can be contacted at (707) 592-6771 or info@tsvv.org
