Police arrest four after following trail of stolen marijuana
VACAVILLE – Four people were arrested following the discovery of stolen medical marijuana plants in a motel room in which they were staying.
Vacaville police were dispatched to the 500 block of Camellia Way at 2:52 a.m. on October 13 following reports of someone screaming and vehicle tires squealing away. Officers arrived in the area and were flagged down by the victim, who told police several medical marijuana plants were stolen from his backyard. The victim is a medical marijuana patient with authorization to grow and use marijuana for medical reasons.
At 3:22 a.m. officers were dispatched to the Motel 6 on Lawrence Drive where a witness reported finding a large amount of marijuana near the pool. Officers arrived and located marijuana leaves on the ground near the trunk of a vehicle, which was registered to Vacaville resident Brianna Crossman.
Officers followed a trail of marijuana leaves on the ground and located two large freshly-cut marijuana plants on the ground near the pool, and determined the plants were left there by subjects staying in one of the rooms at the motel.
A trail of marijuana leaves led officers to Room 222, which was rented by Crossman, where they contacted four subjects. When officers entered the room, they saw several freshly-cut marijuana plants on the bed. The victim responded to Motel 6 and was able to identify the marijuana plants as belonging to him from string and ribbons he used during the growing process. Upon searching the room further, police founded an unloaded handgun in the bathroom garbage can.
Police arrested Crossman, 19, Treshawn Rogers, 18, of Sacramento, Shawn White, 19, of Vacaville and Darrius Anderson, 20, of Vacaville. Anderson was on active California Department of Correction Parole and lives in the area where the marijuana was stolen. White was on active Solano County Juvenile Probation.
The quartet were booked into Solano County Jail on charges of possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, probation violation, parole violation and conspiracy to commit theft.
