Woman assaulted at Cupertino’s De Anza College
A woman reported being assaulted Thursday morning on Cupertino’s De Anza College campus.
According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the campus at about 8:40 a.m. on a report of an assault and battery.
The woman told authorities that a man approached her while she was walking and asked her for help near the college parking garage. As they were walking toward the structure, the man reportedly grabbed her and choked her into unconsciousness, officials say. When the victim came to, the suspect was gone and she was surrounded by a group of people asking if she was okay.
Investigators say the suspect was described as being white, about 5-feet-4-inches tall with light blond hair. He was wearing a green sweater with white lettering and blue jeans at the time of the attack, officials say, and spoke with a Russian accent.
