Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies seeking home invasion robbers
A pair of men allegedly burst into an affluent home in unincorporated Gilroy Tuesday morning, frightening a housekeeper and fleeing with several items from the house.
According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department, authorities are actively searching for the suspects, who reportedly struck at a home in the 2400 block of Howell Avenue in unincorporated Gilroy at around 10 a.m.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Jose Cardoza said one of the suspects was armed with a handgun and both were dressed head to toe in black. They allegedly managed to steal several personal items from the housekeeper, authorities say, as well as a number of items from the home.
Officials have yet to determine a motive for the crime, as well as the identities of the suspects. One man was described as being Caucasian, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black mask and was armed with a gun. The second suspect is believed to be Latino, about 5-feet-6-inches tall and 150 pounds.
