Fairfield police search for suspect in armed robbery
Police are in search of a suspect that robbed a Subway sandwich restaurant on Waterman Boulevard late Friday evening at gunpoint.
According to the Daily Republic, the man was wearing a mask when he robbed the Subway with a handgun. The suspect fled the restaurant on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
An employee working at the restaurant was alone at the time of the robbery. The employee called 9-1-1 at about 9:50 p.m.. Police received little information of the description of the suspect. No one was reported injured from the incident.
The robbery occurred one day after police searched for and arrested two of three suspects in a Vacaville robbery.
According to Daily Republic, the suspects led police on a chase from Vacaville to Fairfield where one suspect was apprehended on the corner of Lighthouse Drive and Lighthouse Court near Hilborn Road in Fairfield. The second was arrested near the Round Table Pizza on Waterman.
Police are looking to obtain more information about the Subway robbery from security footage recoded on a nearby surveillance camera.
