LA man nabbed in violent Vallejo beating
Vallejo police arrested a Los Angeles man in connection with a violent robbery that happened a year ago.
According to the Vallejo Times Herald, Ethan “Twitch” Mathis, 20, allegedly participated with two other suspects in a violent beating. The victim of the beating suffered from permanent neurological damage and serious bodily injuries after being beaten with an empty bottle and skateboards last February at Eagle Rock Park in Los Angeles.
The LAPD asked for Vallejo’s help in the arrest of Mathis through a crime alert issued on January 23. According to Vallejo Times Herald, Mathis was known to be staying in Napa, but Vallejo police were able to lure Mathis to the police department. Vallejo Police declined to offer any further details as of Monday.
Extradition to Los Angeles is planned for Monday. Mathis is being held on bail for about $85,000, according to Vallejo Times Herald.
