Vallejo police seize 30 pounds of marijuana, arrest one in dispensary raid
In a crackdown on unregulated marijuana dispensaries in Vallejo, police arrested the operator of the Better Health Group, Jorge Luis Espinoza, Wednesday night. The dispensary, one of over 20 in Vallejo, is located on the 3600 block of Sonoma Boulevard.
According to Bay City News, Espinoza, 24, was booked at the Solano County jail on charges of possession for sales of marijuana, sales of marijuana, and opening or maintaining an unlawful place.
Detectives searched the dispensary after obtaining a search warrant, finding 400 marijuana plants and 340 food items containing marijuana, including cakes, brownies, cookies, lollypops, drink, and powder drink mix. In addition, detectives seized 30 pounds of processed marijuana and an ounce of hashish, and are considering another charge to be filed for cultivation of marijuana, according to Bay City News.
