Woman alleges rape in Paso Robles
Paso Robles police are on the hunt for a rape suspect who allegedly attacked a woman on the 2100 block of Creston Road.
According to PRPD, their office was contacted on March 6 by a female resident who reported she was the victim of a rape which occurred on March 02, 2012. The age and identity of the victim are being withheld to protect the victim.
The woman told PRPD investigators she was walking home around 7:30 p.m. from a shopping center near the 2100 block of Creston Road when she was approached by a Hispanic male wearing dark clothing. The victim told officers the suspect grabbed her by the arm and forced her to a park near Cedarwood Drive and Creston Road where she said the suspect raped the woman.
Police said the woman described the suspect as a Hispanic male, in his 20s with visible tattoos on his arms and torso. She said the suspect wore dark clothing and later fled the area on foot. The victim stated the suspect did not display or threaten use of a weapon.
According to Lieutenant Ty Lewis, this is the first attack of this nature in recent years. “Stranger rapes are the rarest of their kind. There has not been an attack like this in about five or six years” Lewis said.
