Grover Beach man stabbed
GROVER BEACH – February 25
A man in Grover Beach was stabbed multiple times early Wednesday morning by a suspect police are still looking for.
Police say at around 4 a.m., Armando Campos, 37, allegedly forced is way in at a residence located at 1622 Longbranch Avenue. According to investigators, Campos allegedly forced his way past his ex-girlfriend Kristen Meyers and attacked Ryan Merritt, 31. Police say Merritt was found by officers inside the residence with multiple stab wounds to the chest and head area. The type of weapon is unknown at this time.
Merritt is listed in serious condition and has been transported to Marian Hospital in Santa Maria.
GBPD said Campos fled the scene in a red Ford pick-up truck, license number CA 5L65227. He is described as a Hispanic male, stocky build, 5-10, 185 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. Police say Campos is considered armed and dangerous. He is wanted for attempt murder, assault with a deadly weapon and burglary with intent to commit a felony
Police are asking if anyone has seen Campos to call them or Crime Stoppers at 549-STOP.
UPDATE: March 9:
Campos surrendered to authorities and is now being held in the San Luis Obispo County jail.
