May 17 – Santa Barbara County
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Narcotics Detectives, through the auspices of Public Information Officer Drew Sugars, announced the successful conclusion of a county-wide month long investigation resulting in the arrests of a half-dozen north county residents on charges ranging from conspiracy to drug dealing.
Armed with search warrants issued by the Santa Barbara Superior Court and assisted by the Santa Maria Police Department, detectives found Larry Weber, 32, in a retail store in downtown Santa Maria where “they conducted a physical body search the produced a loaded handgun” Sugars reported.
Outside the store, a search of Weber’s nearby vehicle and its driver, Tanya Valle, 32, revealed them to be in possession of a quarter pound of methamphetamine and assorted burglary tools. Both Weber and Valle were arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on multiple weapons and narcotics violations, with bail set at $100,000.
Pursuant to the arrest of Weber and Valle, detectives then served probation violation warrants on their associates, Danny Chambers, 39, and Manuel Garcia, 40, who were found inside a Santa Maria residence and in possession of semi-automatic handguns, narcotics paraphernalia, and assorted controlled substances and live ammunition. Both were arrested and booked on multiple probation violations, including being under the influence of controlled substance and possession of ammunition by a gang member. “These individuals face will likely face additional gang enhancements to their criminal charges,” Sugars added. Both are currently held without bail.
Another male, Daniel Gil, 27, and a female, Jessika Zepeda, 23, were also arrested at the scene for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
