CHPD Make Arrest in Assault with Deadly Weapon Case; Investigates Other Suspects
The Citrus Heights Police Department (CHPD) announced they have made an arrest and are seeking other suspects in an assault with a deadly weapon case early this morning.
According to a CHPD official press release, on June 12 at approximately 2:58 a.m., a 36 year-old male victim called the CHPD to report he had been stabbed during a physical altercation. The victim had been at a residence in the 6400 block of Denton Way visiting an ex-girlfriend, Gayleen Ramsay, age 44. Reportedly a verbal altercation between the victim and Ramsay ensued, culminating in an assault.
The victim, who reportedly suffered three stab wounds to his torso and back areas, was able to free himself from the assault to call police. Sacramento Metro Fire Department responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was reportedly being treated for serious non-life threatening injuries.
Ramsay was reportedly arrested for assault with a deadly weapon for her role in the assault agains the the victim.
CHPD reported other adults were present during the time of the assault, and preliminary investigation has revealed the possibility that several of the parties present participated in the assault against the victime.
