Video leads police to burglar

A Victorville man is in custody for allegedly burglarizing a construction site.

This Paso Robles construction site was targeted by Burris

According to Paso Robles police they received a call on Thursday at around 8:35 a.m. regarding a theft from a construction site in the 3000 block of Riverside Avenue. The victim told police an unknown suspect entered the fenced site sometime overnight and stole a large amount of construction equipment.

Police say during the initial investigation, a suspect and suspect vehicle were observed on the business security surveillance video recording. PRPD officers said they were able to locate the suspect vehicle at the Motel 6 in the 1100 block of Black Oak Drive. Follow-up investigation led to the positive identification of the suspect, who was located staying at the motel. The suspect was identified as Jarrod Nathanial Burris, 32, of Victorville. Burris was arrested without incident and all of the stolen property was recovered at the scene and returned to the victim.

Jarrod Nathaniel Burris was booked for burglary and grand theft

Burris was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail for one count each of commercial burglary and one count of grand theft.
