Vallejo teen shot while riding in car
A Vallejo teenager was riding in the back of a car on Monday when she was shot.
According to the Vallejo Times Herald, police received a call that the victim of a gunshot wound was being taken to a local hospital at about 2:45 p.m. The woman’s name was not revealed, but her she was confirmed to be 18 years old. Police said she was a passenger in the back seat of a car she rode in with two men. The vehicle was traveling in the area of Corcoran Street and Mini Drive, when a pedestrian began to fire at the car.
The car and the woman were struck, causing a gunshot wound to the woman’s torso, police said. According to the Vallejo Times Herald, the vehicle was left in the parking lot of the hospital. Police found two bullet holes in the car.
The shooter was described as a thin and tall black man; no other information was available.
The woman was treated for non-threatening injuries at a local trauma center.
