Police search for attempted murder suspect
The Paso Robles Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a suspect and vehicle linked to a shooting that occurred on July 28 around 11:15 p.m.
Police say the shooting occurred in the parking lot at an apartment complex along the 1200 block of Corral Creek. According to PRPD, officers responded to the Dry Creek Apartments for the report of a gunshot heard.
Officers arrived a few minutes later and learned one person was shot and the suspect responsible for the shooting had already left the scene. Witnesses reported observing a dispute between the victim and suspect in the parking lot immediately prior to the shooting. The witnesses said during the dispute the suspect shot the victim and then fled the scene in a vehicle, described as a silver passenger car similar to a Honda Civic. Investigators from the Paso Robles Police Department searched the area, but did not locate the person responsible for the shooting.
Witnesses described the suspect as a Hispanic male adult, 25 to 35, with short cropped hair and a goatee-style beard. The victim, a 25-year-old Paso Robles resident, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police say his identity and condition are being withheld at this time while family members are being notified.
Police say it is unknown at this time if this incident is gang related.
