Stabbing at Clovis Elementary School
A man and a boy from Fresno were arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide at an unlikely place – an elementary school playground in the normally quiet neighborhood of Clovis located at 1590 Bellaire.
The police department reported Tuesday that the 32-year-old man and 17-year-old juvenile approached a man playing soccer at Miramonte Elementary School and asked him if he claimed gang affiliation. When the man said he was not a gang member, he was stabbed by the man and pistol whipped by the boy, police said.
The victim was reportedly able to run away from the pair and made it to the safety of his car where he called police.
Officers later arrested the man during a traffic stop in Fresno after making a positive identification and the probation department arrested the boy. The 32-year-old man was identified as Sorn Moua. They expect to release information in a press release later this week. “It appears the victim was just minding his own business,” said Clovis Police, “trying to get some exercise and unfortunately, this happened.”
