Suspect Arrested in Dry Creek Attempted Murder Case
In a combined effort the Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office investigators have arrested Rojelio Aviles, 21, of King City in connection with the July 28 shooting at the Dry Creek Apartments in Paso Robles.
According to a press release, the arrest occurred on August 16 at the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department Jail in Salinas. According to police, investigators were able to positively identify Aviles through witness interviews as the person believed to be responsible for the attempted murder of 25-year-old Luis Paulino Angel of Paso Robles.
Angel was shot in the chest the night of July 28 and is currently recovering from his once life threatening injuries. Aviles is a King City resident and suspected of participation in a criminal street gang from the King City area.
PRPD investigators say they are currently working with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department to determine whether Aviles is also linked to a July 28 gang-related double homicide in San Ardo.
