Elk Grove PD Searches for Armed Robbery Suspects
The Elk Grove Police Department is currently looking for suspects in an armed robbery that occurred earlier this month, according to an official department press release.
On August 11, 2012, at 12:36 am, the Elk Grove PD responded to an armed robbery at the Holiday Inn Express at 2460 Maritime Drive. Two unidentified males had reportedly entered the business and approached an employee working at the front counter. One suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the employee give him all the money in the cash drawer. Fearing for her safety, the employee reportedly complied and gave a portion of the money from the register to both suspects. An unidentified third suspect stepped into the lobby area briefly while the robbery was taking place, then all three suspects ran out of the location once the money was obtained.
The first suspect is described as an African-American male in his 20s, approximately 5’5”, 140 lbs., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white hood strings, gray pants and white/black athletic shoes. He reportedly had a black glove on his right hand and a blue glove on his left hand, and he was armed with a handgun that he held in his left hand.
The second suspect was described as an African-American male in his early teens, 5’0”, with a small build. He was wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt with white hood strings, blue latex gloves, black pants, and black/white shoes.
The third suspect was wearing a hood with a yellow crew neck sweatshirt, black pants, and gray athletic shoes.
Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to call the Elk Grove PD Detective Bureau at 916-478-8060 or Crime Alert at 916-443-HELP (4357).
