Air Force Recruit Charged with Assault

A San Miguel man was arrested Sunday for assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly stabbed another man at a party.

Benjamin Dealba, Jr.

According to the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a call on Sunday around 10:30 p.m. regarding a stabbing at a house party in the 1500 block of K Street in San Miguel. Detectives were told the party was being held for 19-year-old Benjamin Dealba Jr. who was leaving for the Air Force the following day.

Investigators say Dealba told them Jon Richard Dacy, 21, of Pollock Pines showed up uninvited to the party and began arguing with Dealba’s father outside the residence. The argument escalated and Dacy struck Dealba’s father several times with his fists.

Investigators say Dealba Jr. went to his room, retrieved a knife and confronted Dacy. Dealba Jr. says Dacy threw a punch at him and he responded by stabbing him.

According to the sheriff’s department, Dacy suffered a cut and a puncture wound to his stomach and was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.

Dealba Jr. was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
