Tennis coach arrested in child molestation case with 15-year-old student
A Los Angeles tennis coach was arrested for molesting a 15-year-old student by the Glendale Police Department on October 2nd. 46-year-old Dale Kim is being charged with 10 counts of lewd acts on a child, 7 counts of oral copulation with a minor, and 4 counts of rape of a minor.
Kim, a tennis teacher for over a decade, allegedly molested his student several times after tennis practice at the Scholl Canyon Tennis Center in Glendale. Kim rented the courts from the tennis center to conduct private lessons and was not affiliated with the tennis center or the city of Glendale.
In addition to the acts committed after practice, detectives also believe that other acts of intercourse took place in a motel room within the Tujunga area of Los Angeles. Investigators are still identifying any other individuals who may have been victims or may have information to assist in the investigation and prosecution of Kim.
Kim’s arraignment will take place on October 3rd at the Glendale Superior Court. His bail is set at $850,000. Glendale Police Department PIO Sgt. Thomas Lorenz was not immediately available for comment.
