Couple skipping on cab fare Tasered for resisting arrest
Vallejo police arrested a husband and wife Saturday morning after a cab driver reported that the two refused to pay for their cab ride.
According to the Vallejo Times Herald, the man and woman took a taxi at about 10 a.m to Hendricks Drive and Turner Parkway, police said.
When their cab arrived, the two allegedly refused to pay their cab fare. When their cab driver attempted to call law enforcement for assistance, the couple brandished a knife, police said.
The couple, later identified as Pamela Gillam, 60, and Marvin Gillam, 63, walked away from the cab and the driver was then able to contact police about the incident.
According to the Vallejo Times Herald, when police arrived to the area they found the couple just blocks away from where the incident occurred. Police reported that Marvin Gillam had resisted as officers attempted to arrest him, and was subsequently Tasered in the process.
Upon search of Pamela Gillam during her arrest, officers found a crack pipe in her possession, police said.
The couple were arrested and booked into Solano County Jail, according to the Vallejo Times Herald.
