Oklahoma Pair Nabbed at Redding Hotel
REDDING – On Monday November 5th police responded to a call concerning a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel at 5175 Churn Creek Road. They determined that the 2012 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 was stolen from Weatherford, Oklahoma. Further investigation led them to a room at the motel where they discovered a set of car keys that connected its two occupants to possession of the vehicle.
Police arrested 36-year-old Leon Jerald Davison of Clinton, Oklahoma and 23-year-old Crystal Diane Spencer also of Clinton. Spencer admitted that the car indeed was stolen from Oklahoma and that he was in California to process marijuana.
Police also found a shotgun, ammunition and a large amount of concentrated cannibas in the trunk of the vehicle. Davison is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Both Davison and Spencer were booked into Shasta County Jail, charged with possession of stolen property and vehicle theft.
