Clovis Teacher Arrested on Sex Charges
CLOVIS – A female high school teacher in Clovis was arrested on charges that she had sex with an underage male student last year.
The Clovis Police Department arrested Lindsay Trimble on Thursday. She resigned from her teaching position with Clovis Unified School District on that same day.
Trimble was a secondary teacher at the Reagan Education Center at Clovis East High School teaching science. She was also assigned to teach at Reyburn Intermediate, which is also located at the Reagan Education Center.
The alleged inappropriate relationship happened between the married teacher and a 17-year-old male student in the 2011-2012 school year, according to Clovis Unified School District.
“This is an extremely serious situation, and Clovis Unified is working closely with police in their ongoing investigation,” said a press release from Clovis Unified.
Officials believe the relationship happened off-campus and was isolated to the 17-year-old student. Police have told Clovis Unified that there is no indication that there have been any other victims.
“Police do not believe that the relationship occurred through any school-related activity or event, nor did any encounter take place at a school or during a school-related event,” the press release from Clovis Unified said.
Trimble graduated from Fresno State University and formerly taught at Sanger High School. She bailed out of jail the day after her arrest.
