Nipomo Market Robbed at Gunpoint

NIPOMO – Two men armed with guns robbed a small neighborhood market over the weekend, fleeing the area with an undisclosed amount of money.

At 10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, two adult males wearing masks entered La Placita Market at 515 Orchard Street, brandished guns and demanded cash from the clerks, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.

After robbing the clerks, the unidentified men fled the market on foot and left the area in a vehicle that was parked outside. It’s unknown whether there was a third person in the getaway vehicle, deputies said.

The investigation into the armed robbery is ongoing, and anyone with any information about the incident is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at (805) 781-4553. Anonymous tips can also be made by calling CrimeStoppers at 1-877-800-9100.
