Man Surrenders to Sheriffs after Shots Fired at Templeton Residence

Templeton- A Templeton man was arrested after deputies of the Templeton Sheriff’s Patrol Station responded to a report of “shots fired” at around 12:31 p.m. on December 30th.

Deputies arrived at a residence located at 29 El Pomar Drive and set up a perimeter immediately. They then proceeded with attempting to make contact with the suspect by phone.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies “subsequently convinced” the suspect to surrender.

William Powell, 44, was arrested on charges of assault with a firearm on person and possession of a concealed firearm by a felon. He is currently being held on $50,000 bail.

The alleged victim of the assault was uninjured during the incident.

Deputies also stated in a press release that the first violation is pending further investigation.
