El Mariachi armed robber arrested
ROCKLIN – Rocklin police have arrested 24-year-old Justin Zinman in the armed robbery of Rocklin’s El Mariachi restaurant in August of this year.
On Deccember 15th, according to a Rocklin police press release, Zinman, who is a Rocklin resident, was arrested for the robbery, along with unrelated charges of possessing drugs, and possessing drugs for sale.
On August 15th, Rocklin police had been called to the El Mariachi restaurant on Sunset Boulevard for an armed robbery that had occurred at around 8:30 in the evening. Witnesses reported a young Caucasian man came in with a white handkerchief covering his face. He displayed a black handgun in his waistband to the counter person, and demanded money. After the employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber fled accross the parking lot towards the back of Strikes Family Entertainment Center on Lonetree Boulevard.
After a 4 month investigation, and with assistance of the Roseville Police Department, Zinman was identified as the suspect and arrested. He is currently being held in the Placer County Jail on $50,000 bail.
