Middle School mom joins in daughter's fight

The two middle school girls planned to meet here to engage in an after school fight
A new level of parental guidance was set when a San Pedro mother was arrested for assisting her middle school daughter in a January 14th fight with one of her classmates. 33-year-old Amber Lee Gutierrez was arrested January 23rd after volunteering to meet with detectives at the LAPD’s Harbor Station.
Over a week prior, Gutierrez’s daughter and the victim, Teah LaGranda, both students at Dana Middle School, met at 3 PM for a prearranged fight on the 1300 block of West Gaffey Street. The daughter brought her mother and aunt and they all participated in assaulting the LaGranda. During the fight, a witness captured video of the event.
For her role in the fight, Gutierrez was charged with Felony Corporal Injury to a Child and had her bail set at $100,000. The LAPD is still searching for the aunt and child who took part in the assault.
