Arrests in Oakdale After Shots Fired At Officer
Oakdale – 2 suspects were arrested in Oakdale after shots were fired at an officer.
Officers responded to a call pertaining to 2 suspicious subjects. As the officers investigated the report, they found a sleeping bag and a rifle wrapped in a blanket. Upon further investigation, 5 additional long guns, or rifles, were found. The officers encountered two subjects who proceeded to flee the scene. One ran eastbound while the other ran westbound. The eastbound subject fired at the officer who pursued him.
Officers from several different agencies and over 50 police units were involved in a police perimeter that stretched over 1 ¼ miles long within the city limits of Oakdale, south of F street. Two helicopters and one fixed wing aircraft were included.
At 6:23 pm, one of the subjects was apprehended at Mann Court, a block from where the subject fired at the officer. He identified the suspect as a Hispanic male, 20 years of age.
The Modesto Squad Team located the eastbound suspect while searching 2 homes. The arrest was made in the 200 Block of Davitt Avenue.
Both suspects are being charged with burglary, and the second suspect is also being charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
