Babies in Car While Drugs Dealt, 3 Arrested
Detectives of the San Luis Obispo Special Enforcement Team have three men under arrest after they were observed participating in a drug deal on Thursday, January 31. One suspect had his children in the vehicle at the time of the deal.
According to SLOPD, detectives conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle associated with the narcotics transaction as it left the area. The passenger in the vehicle, Salomon Villar, was found in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. The driver of the vehicle, Abad Perez, an unlicensed driver, had his one-year old and two-year-old children in the vehicle with him when the transaction was made.
Villar was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana and Perez was arrested for child endangerment. The children were turned over to child welfare services.
The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Narcotics team responded to assist with the investigation. Detectives searched the home at 1321 Woodside Drive where the transaction took place and seized approximately three ounces of methamphetamine, a small amount of cocaine and approximately $1,300 cash from the residence.
Cosme Lopez-Moreno, who was at the home, was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of cocaine and child endangerment. He had his two-year-old daughter with him at the time of the narcotics transaction. The drugs found in the residence were all stored within the child’s reach.
The child was turned over to relatives, but is being evaluated by SLO County Child Welfare Services. Additionally, numerous items of stolen property were recovered in the investigation.
