Vacaville – Police are seeking a woman named Jasmine who left the scene of a single-car accident that occurred late Monday evening near Dobbins and Deodora Streets. She was in the front seat of a vehicle driven by Anthony Barragan-Sullivan, 21, who was arrested for DUI and driving with a suspended license. Because the two backseat passengers were seriously injured, the DUI charges against him are felonies.
Firefighters had to cut away pieces of the damaged vehicle in order to extricate the two women in the backseat. They were taken to a local hospital, where one was listed as being in serious condition and the other in stable condition. Their names were not released but one of the women is the owner of the damaged vehicle.
Investigation into the accident revealed that the group of friends had been drinking and were in the process of driving home. It was decided that Barragan-Sullivan was the least intoxicated so he took the wheel. But he miscalculated a curve on Dobbins street. The vehicle hit a curb, turned sideways, and ended up running into a utility pole. The impact shattered the lower half of the pole and resulted in a neighborhood power outage.
Barragan-Sullivan called police to report the accident. The woman in the passenger seat, Jasmine, who left the scene and may be injured, was later sought by police but not located.
Anyone with information about this incident, including information regarding the missing passenger, should call Vacaville police at (707) 449-5200 and ask for Officer Bob Horel.
