Suspect in Child Porn Case Now Facing Molestation Charges
FRESNO – A suspect arrested earlier this month on child pornography charges also acted on his impulses with a teenage boy, police said.
Federal agents first went to 36-year-old David Hume’s home, in the 5100 block of East Ashlan Avenue in Fresno, on January 30 to investigate him for allegedly downloading child pornography. Authorities say Hume had images and videos of child pornography on his computer that he distributed over a file-sharing network. They put him under arrest.
While interviewing Hume, detectives discovered that he had found an underage boy on Craigslist through personal ads. Court records show that the two talked online and exchanged text messages before meeting up at Shafer Park in Selma.
By looking through chats online that took place between Hume and the 13-year-old boy, detectives determined that the two had sexual contact. The criminal complaint against Hume alleges that he took the boy to a residence on two occasions and sexually assaulted him.
An interview with the young boy confirmed the sexual contact, authorities said.
Court records also show that Hume had a conversation online where he talked about being interested in boys from 5 to 12 years old. Hume also said online that he had sexual relations with an 8-year-old boy. Leading investigators worried that he has had prior offenses.
Hume is facing a charge of online enticement of a minor as well as distribution of child pornography.
