CHPD Arrests Commercial Burglary Suspects
The Citrus Heights Police Department (CHPD) have arrested four suspects in the attempted robbery of a local business using a stolen U-Haul box van, according to an official CHPD press release.
Samantha Padilla, 23; Michael Reyes, 26; Stacey Brown, 47; and William Figueroa, 51, are all from Fresno County and were reportedly arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail for burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, and possession of known stolen property.
According to the CHPD, on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at approximately 4:45am, community members called the CHPD to report several suspects removing property from a business in the 7200 block of Auburn Blvd. Officers reportedly responded to the scene and arrived as the suspects were driving away from the business in what was later determined to be a stolen U-Haul box van.
CHPD officers reportedly attempted to stop the van, but a pursuit began as the van attempted to flee. The pursuit ended after the U-Haul driver attempted to ram an apartment complex security gate on Auburn Oaks Court.
Officers were reportedly able to immediately arrest two suspects, then an additional two suspects were apprehended with help from the Roseville Police Department, Placer County Sheriff’s Department, and California Highway Patrol. All items of stolen property were reportedly recovered from the U-Haul van.
The CHPD is currently investigating this incident to identify the outstanding suspect, and anyone with information regarding this crime is encouraged to contact the CHPD at 916-727-5500.
