Man Suffers Serious Stabbing Wound in South Chico
Chico – On March 4, Chico police officers responded to a call involving a fight and possible stabbing. The incident took place in the parking lot of Dutch Brothers at E. Park and Carmichael in Chico.
When officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with a male and female who are identified as Jeremy Rivera, 25, and Trina Baltazar-Dollar, 32, both of Chico. The victim has been identified as John Kenyon, 42.
During questioning, officers received a call from Chico PD dispatch that a woman reported that she was taking the victim to the hospital for his stab wounds.
The officers were able to determine that Rivera and Baltazar-Dollar were in the parking lot at the time of the incident and had attacked Kenyon after a verbal altercation ensued. Rivera produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest while Baltazar-Dollar assaulted the victim with a mop handle. The suspects have been arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail in Oroville.
Kenyon remains hospitalized in serious condition as a result of his stab wounds.
