Louis Joseph Bristol, 28, a Carpinteria Youth Pastor at a popular local church was arrested late in the afternoon of February 27th on charges of child molestation, child rape, lewd acts upon a child, and furnishing controlled substances to minors.
Bristol was taken into custody without incident, according to Santa Barbara County Sheriff Public Information Officer Kelly Hoover, when he surrendered himself to Sheriff’s Detectives at the Carpinteria substation. Hoover reported to the media that Bristol had allegedly “used his position as a High School Youth Pastor at the Carpinteria Community Church” in conjunction with his employment as an Assistant Manager at the Carpinteria Holiday Inn Express to perpetrate crimes against at least two underage females.
Hoover indicated that an extensive investigation into Bristol’s activities establish his modus operandi of sending “inappropriate text messages and photos” to his victims, following which he brought them to the motel where he worked to sell them marijuana and meet with them in vacant rooms to which he had access. It is alleged that he engaged in sexual molestation with the females in those motel rooms on multiple occasions late in 2012 and early in 2013.
Bristol was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail where he remains on bail set at $2 million.
Santa Barbara County Sheriffs are seeking additional information on Bristol’s activities and urge any other victims to contact Detective Chris Corbett at 805-684-5405.
