Vehicle Versus House
San Luis Obispo police arrested a woman on Wednesday after she drove her vehicle into a residence.
According to SLOPD, officers responded to a call regarding a traffic accident with a vehicle colliding into a house at the intersection of Orcutt Street and Johnson Avenue.
The vehicle was driven by Cassandra Cheatham, 23, of San Luis Obispo.
Police say Cheatham was driving her vehicle northbound on Orcutt when she veered off the road and struck a curb and small embankment. This caused the vehicle to become airborne, clearing another vehicle that was parked in the driveway, before crashing into the garage.
Cheatham and an unidentified male passenger sustained minor injuries, according to the police.
The residents were in the rear of the house at the time of the incident and only suffered property damage.
Police determined Cheatham was intoxicated and she was arrested for a felony charge of DUI causing injury.
Cheatham was transported and booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
