K9s Catch Criminals
Two men are under arrest for burglary after San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s deputies caught them attempting to burglarize a commercial business on Tuesday around 2:30 a.m.
According to the sheriff’s office, they received a call reporting two suspects clipping a chain link with bolt cutters to a fence leading to C & N Tractors in Paso Robles.
Deputies found a piece of the fence cut when they arrived on the scene and set up a perimeter to box in any possible suspects.
Deputies used K9s to assist in the search, which led them to one of the suspects who was hiding. The suspect, Leonard Felipe Trujillo, 38, of Paso Robles, was armed with a knife. Trujillo was also injured by the K9 deputies released onto him, and was taken to a local hospital before being booked.
While searching the area, another suspect, Henry Theodore Lee Long, 30, of Atascadero was stopped by detectives. Deputies then discovered that Long was in possession of evidence that linked him to the crime scene.
Trujillo and Long were both booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail. Trujillo was charged with burglary, whereas Long was charged with possession of burglary tools and being under the influence of a controlled substance, along with $5,000 bail.
Detectives are still looking into the crime to see if anyone else was involved.
