Visalia Man Accused of Molesting 13-Year-Old Girl
VISALIA – A man was arrested Tuesday and had charges filed against him on Thursday for molesting a teenage girl.
The Visalia Police Department arrested 48-year-old Daniel Jaramillo Lucero after a 13-year-old female relative came forward with allegations that Lucero had been sexually molesting her for several years.
Lucero has been charged with eight counts of child molestation in connection to five alleged instances of lewd and lascivious acts. The first two counts accuse Lucero of intercourse or sodomy with a child under the age of 10, another count accuses him of oral copulation with a child under the age of 10, and the final five counts are for lewd and lascivious acts on a child under the age of 14.
Police have not revealed many details of the abuse, but say it goes back several years.
Lucero may have lived at a Visalia home that was also used at a daycare. Police served a search warrant at the house on Wednesday afternoon and seized a computer.
Lucero faces 69 years to life in prison if convicted. He is being held on $500,000 bail.
In a separate incident, another Visalia man was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of molesting a male teenage relative. The Kings County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old David A. Shultz after a two-month investigation. Schultz lives in Visalia and works in Tulare, but the alleged molestation happened in Kings County between 2008 and 2011, authorities said.
Shultz is being held on $2 million bail.
