Millville Woman Faces a Pistol During a 5 hour Dispute

MILLVILLE – On Monday, April 1st,  a female reported to the Shasta County Deputies that her husband pointed a loaded pistol directly at her and claimed he was going to kill her- the woman’s husband of 25 years.  The husband, identified as Robert Weichers, 58, then aimed the gun at the floor near her and pulled the trigger- a shot was fired.

The woman told police that her husband pulled the trigger multiple times with the gun facing her direction.  The only shot fired was the one aimed at the floor. She reported to deputies that during the assault, Weichers pelted the gun at her and it struck her head.  Additionally, he punched her multiple times.

Reportedly, no medical attention was needed. The victim was locked in the bedroom with her husband against her will.  Later, she was able to safely flee from the residence located on the 2400 block of Quail Terrace.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit assisted Deputies in this case and learned that the incident actually occurred late at night on Monday, March 25.  The entirety of the physical and verbal altercation was approximately 5 hours.  On April 2, detectives attempted to interview the assailant, however, he remained uncooperative.   Weichers is being held at the Shasta County Jail on a series of charges including: domestic violence, felony assault with a firearm, criminal threats and false imprisonment.
