Vacaville male booked for alleged attack of girlfriend
VACAVILLE – Luis Prado, 44, of Vacaville was taken into custody Saturday evening with the help of K9 Syar of the Vacaville PD.
Police received a call around 9 a.m. Saturday from a woman living in the 1500 block of Alamo Drive who stated her boyfriend had punched her. After arriving at the scene, officers discovered that in fact a lengthy physical altercation had taken place, and that the boyfriend, identified as Prado, had already fled.
In accordance with privacy laws, the woman’s identity is not being released. When she attempted to get help from neighbors, both for herself and an infant she was trying to protect, she and the infant had been dragged back into the house by Prado.
Officers were told Prado was violent, had access to weapons, and would likely resist any attempt to arrest him. Further investigation revealed there was an active restraining order blocking any contact between Prado and the woman or infant.
Additionally, there were two active warrants from another county, one for domestic abuse and the second for vandalism.
During the search for Prado, he was sighted walking along Alamo Drive. Realizing he’d been spotted, he ducked into a mobile home park in the 1400 block. Officers and K9 Syar began a search of the park and found Prado hiding among the mobile home park’s garbage cans. He refused to come out, and Syar was directed to make an apprehension. He bit Prado on the leg, causing him to fall, and officers took him into custody.
Prado then received medical treatment for the leg wound. After treatment and being medically cleared, he was booked into Solano County Jail on felony charges of inflicting bodily injury and kidnapping, and on five misdemeanor charges, including violation of a restraining order, child endangerment and resisting arrest.
