Man Blows Self Up Outside Home

An investigation was under way Monday into the death of a man who apparently committed suicide by blowing himself up outside a Costa Mesa home.

The incident at Bermuda and Labrador drives began around 8 p.m. Sunday, when someone noticed a man on the ground in a front yard and called an ambulance, according to a news photographer. The man, who neighbors identified as Kevin Harris, 52,  declined an offer of help and then blew himself up, the Los Angeles Times reported.
