Bank Robbers Arrested in Lake Elsinore
LAKE ELSINORE – Following the armed robbery of a Bank of America, investigators located and arrested four suspects.
On Monday, April 15 at 12:55 PM, the Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatch received a call that three armed black males, disguised with masks and wigs, robbed the Bank of America located at the 29000 block of Canyon Hills Road in Lake Elsinore. During the robbery one bank employee was struck by a suspect, receiving minor injuries, which were later treated at the scene. The robbers were reported to have taken cash and fled from the scene in a white vehicle that looked like an SUV.
Officers and investigators from the Lake Elsinore Police Department canvassed the area and discovered a white Chevrolet Tahoe parked on Franklin and Canyon Estates, which had been abandoned and was engulfed in flames. The vehicle was registered in Compton, CA and reported as having been stolen.
A further search of the area led officers to two suspicious black males in front of another vehicle parked at a residence in the 31000 block of Canyon Estates. One of the suspects quickly hid an object under the front bumper and both men fled the scene.
The Riverside Sheriff’s helicopter and service dog responded to scene and assisted Lake Elsinore Police in apprehending the suspects. One of the men was in possession of a loaded handgun, gloves and a ski mask. The object hidden under the bumper was revealed to be a satchel of money matching the amount stolen in the robbery. Another suspect was taken into custody inside the residence. A fourth suspect was discovered leaving the area at a high rate of speed, and was stopped by a motorcycle officer and arrested.
Derrell Boulden, 32; Doann Jackson, 31; Charles Tate III, 22; and Jamal Williams 27, all residents of Compton, were arrested and taken to the Southwest Detention Center. They were booked for armed bank robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property.
